| Sometimes getting organized involves not just getting rid of things you don't need
but getting things you do need | |
|
| Organizing Your Refrigerator | |
|
- Remove all items from your refrigerator, checking expirations dates as you go. Toss all items that are past
their date.
- Wipe off all shelves, interior walls, and refrigerator bins.
- Usa a paste made from baking soda and water to remove sticky deposits.
- Group small jars and bottles into "like" categories, i.e. condiments in one group, jams and jellies into another, etc.
- Place these "like" items in clear plastic storage boxes (plastic shoeboxes work well). The boxes easily slide out
so that you can pick the item you're looking for. Also, they're easy to clean!
- Place an opened box of baking soda in one of the plastic storage boxes too. The baking soda will keep your
refrigerator smelling fresh.
- Return item to refrigerator, with "like" items next to one another, and with tallest containers towards the back.
|
| Tips |
- Use square and rectangle containers whenever possible so that space is used most efficiently. Stack them vertically
for best use of space.
- For the freezer, use the same principle of putting "like" items next to one another.
- Usa an opened box of baking soda in your freezer too. The boxes of baking soda should be replaced every 3 months.
